Step 1. Measure and reduce one piece of leather to 6 1/4 x 4 inches and two pieces to 2 x 4 inches with a utility knife.
Step 2. On the smaller pieces, measure and evenly mark ½ inch in from the higher corners. Make another mark ½ inch beneath the top edges of the pieces, on middle. Use a straightedge and utility knife to chop between the factors, forming a notch in each pocket. [Fig. A]
Step 3. With the smooth, or shell, facet of the massive piece of leather wallet for men engraved facing down, place the smaller pieces shell side up in order that they’re aligned with the outside edges of the bigger piece. There ought to be a 2-inch hole between the pieces. Use slightly rubber cement to carry the pockets in place [Fig. B].
Step 4. Working around the perimeter of the main piece of leather (even where the items don’t overlap), use an awl to make holes ¼ inch in from the edge and spaced approximately 1/four inch apart [Fig. C].
Step 5. Beginning with one of the longer sides of the wallet on top, saddle stitch the leather-based together [Fig. D]. Thread two needles on one piece of thread, one on either end. Begin the stitch by passing one needle via a nook gap. It’s best to have a needle on either aspect of the leather at this level. Move one needle via the subsequent hole and to the other facet, then move the second needle by way of the same gap in the other path. Repeat around all the wallet.
Step 6. While you make it again to your first hole, continue stitching one or two holes past it, overlapping the primary items of thread. Minimize off any excess thread, then touch the ends with a lighter to melt the ends to the threading.
